IIRS-ISRO Outreach Programme

The IIRS-ISRO Outreach Program is an initiative of the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) aimed to strengthening the Academia and User Segments in Space Technology & Its Applications using Online Learning Platforms. The program offers a wide range of courses, webinars, and workshops related to remote sensing, GIS, GNSS, and other geospatial technologies. The program's primary objective is to provide training and capacity-building opportunities to various beneficiary groups, including students, researchers, academics, government organizations, NGOs, and the geospatial industry. The program offers courses in both Live & Interactive mode (known as EDUSAT) and e-Learning mode to cater to the diverse learning needs of the beneficiaries.

The Live & Interactive mode of distance learning is enabled through the internet and A-view software platform developed by Amrita e-learning Lab in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Government of India. The programs are available free of cost to the users, and the live and interactive sessions are conducted by experts from IISR-ISRO and other knowledge institutions. The program has successfully conducted over 22 courses with the participation of over 120,000+ participants from 1,048+ academic institutions, government departments, and the geospatial industry. The courses cover a broad range of topics, including remote sensing, GIS, GNSS, natural resource management, disaster management, and many more.
